What to Do Until You Reach the Clinic

Here are some helpful steps to take:
- Toothache: Rinse your mouth with warm water and use over-the-counter pain relief if needed. Avoid placing aspirin directly on the gums.
- Knocked-out tooth: Without touching its roots, rinse your tooth and try to place it back in the socket. If that doesn’t work, keep it in milk until you arrive.
- Broken tooth: Rinse your tooth and mouth with water and use an ice pack to reduce swelling. Save any fragments.
- Lost filling or crown: Try not to chew on that side until you can be seen.
